From a young age I had always wanted to become a USAF fighter pilot. However, my less than perfect vision blocked me from my goal. However, it did not stop me from identifying and achieving a new goal: becoming a telecommunications technician. I entered the Air Force in February 1991 and have been working in telecommunications as a network technician, equipment technician, and network engineer.
My past experiences have shaped who I am today. My military experience instilled in me a hard work ethic and the ability to work under a tremendous amount of pressure (see Instrumental bullet point below). My civilian experience and the ever changing telecommunications landscape taught me how to adapt quickly to constant change and how to improve engineering methods to beat the competition. As I result I was more productive and could complete major projects faster than any of my peers (which was good since I was responsible for establishing the backhaul networks for the fast growing Las Vegas metropolitan area).
